West Quantoxhead lies at the foot of the Quantock Hills in Somerset. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Quantock Hills have been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. West Quantoxhead is a small village, close to Williton and about half way along the A39 between Minehead and Bridgewater. It is also known as St Audries as it lies within the St Audries Manor Estate. The village church of St Audries is also known as St Ethelreda's. The present church was built in 1854 to replace the dilapidated medieval structure that had stood in its place.
