Some Upwey Cottages

The village of Upwey lies in the south of the county of Dorset, near to Weymouth. Due to the growth of Weymouth it has gradually become a suburb of the town. Upwey lies on the A354 road heading northwards from Weymouth on the way to Dorchester. Above Upwey, to the north, the River Wey rises at the foot of the chalk ridge of the South Dorset Downs and flows on through the village. At the source of the river is the Upwey Wishing Well, a tourist attraction as long ago as Victorian times. The site now has mature water gardens and a tea room.
