The village of Trefor is to be found on the Lleyn Peninsula close to Caernarfon and Pwllheli. It is a quiet seaside village today and the pier (built around 1912) was once used to fill boats with the granite from the Eifl Quarry , The Welsh Granite Company operated the mine which was a dominant economic activity in the area. The pier today is a popular dive site for those interested in SCUBA diving and who appreciate the variety of sea life that exists in this location, whilst the harbour and a small sandy beach are close by.
