St. Andrews is Scotlandâ€™s oldest University town famously known for its associations with world golf. The town is easily explored on foot with a mix of University buildings found alongside shops and restaurants. The West Sands is a beautiful beach used as a location for the movie Chariots of Fire. Named after the Patron Saint of Scotland, St. Andrews was the ecclesiastical capital of Scotland from mediaeval times to the reformation.
