Sidmouth is a charming little town on the East coast of Devon. It overlooks the waters of Lyme Bay, situated on the Jurassic Coast and on the South West Coast Path, a long distance footpath skirting almost all of the coast of the West Country of England. The town is set in a sheltered valley below sandstone cliffs and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. One of the very few seaside towns which has managed to preserve its old world charm, it is no surprise that Sidmouth is popular among retirees, with around 60% of its population being over retirement age.
