Pimlico is perhaps one of the least famous areas of central London, even though it's within the City of Westminster and enjoys a riverside location on the north bank of the Thames, opposite Vauxhall. The scenic Pimlico Gardens, spreading out parallel to the water, are as popular with locals and visitors as they are with individuals and firms holding marquee events. The area, newly fashionable among homebuyers, features a mix of handsome Victorian townhouses designed by Thomas Cubitt and local authority housing which in places like the landmark Hide Tower building has also become highly desirable.
