Louth is a pretty Market town ‘Capital of the Lincolnshire Wolds’ where many buildings date back to the 17th and 18th Century, the oldest streets in the town are East Gate and Westgate, and Louth bridges two different Hemispheres as the Greenwich Meridian Line passes through here. The Museum has interesting Medieval and Roman artefacts, and the church a dominating spire soaring to 295’, St James, built in the 15th Century is the tallest Medieval spire in the country. The area is ideal for explorers whether on foot or cycle or how about a journey on a steam locomotive, the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway is close by and gives the traveller an insight into the glorious age of steam travel.
