To many people the best of the North Wales coastal towns is Llandudno, if you approach the town from Penrhyn Bay the road (A546) offers a spectacular view of the bay and shoreline, known as the North Shore, stretching away from you in a perfect crescent, in the distance stretching out to sea is the famous pier and towering over it is The Great Orme with its tramway which on its route to the top provides panoramic views. If you prefer a more modern method of transport then there is the Alpine Lift in Happy Valley, a listed public park dedicated to Llandudno by Lord Mostyn in celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
