Lying about six miles south east of Warwick and was traditionally an agricultural community. Still visible today are two old water pumps in the village which have enjoyed much use over the years, one of the pumps was made by Joseph Evans and Sons of Wolverhampton who we think started manufacturing water pumps around the 1760’s. Such is the architectural importance of the village that most of it today is deemed a Conservation Area. The parish church of St Lawrence built of stone in the late 13th century style of architecture but was rebuilt in the 18th century with a stone tower replacing the old wooden belfry.
