Jackson Bridge is a small village that manages to be on the edge of several places at once. Easily reached by road Jackson Bridge is on the A616 road between Huddersfield and Penistone, or for the more energetic is just a few miles off the Pennine Way. It lies to the side of the more famous Holmfirth, setting of the long running BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine. The “Summer Wine†tour takes in Jackson Bridge, as the village includes the pub whose exterior features regularly in the programme, and Clegg’s cottage behind it.
