Some Featherstone Cottages

Featherstone is an interesting town positioned in West Yorkshire, between the busy towns of Pontefract and Wakefield and is home to over sixteen thousand people. The town dates back far in time, and has a rich mining heritage when many of the townsfolk laboured in the nearby colliery. In 1893 the Miners held a strike, soldiers were called in to help deal with the situation, however, after the attempts from the local bobby to calm the rising heat of the strike, they fired their guns which led to the demise of two of the Miners.
