Under the shadow of the suspension bridge that takes its name sits Erskine, a small, Renfrewshire town on the River Clydeâ€™s south bank. Erskine is primarily a commuter town â€“ 30 minutes from Glasgow, or less when the going is good â€“ and has grown in recent years as Glasgowâ€™s population has spilt over onto its surrounding settlements. The town is well-served by road, and is just ten minutes from Glasgow Airport. Erskineâ€™s residents do not have to travel far to enjoy the spoils of the Scottish countryside; Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are nearby, and the Clydeâ€™s pristine sea lochs make for an enjoyable weekend road trip.
