The South Somerset village of Culmhead is situated in a glorious location close to the Devon border. The area offers spectacular scenery and is perfect for those who enjoy the outdoors, whether that be exploring nature or indulging in more sporting activities. Between 1841-1875, the area was famous for its lime kiln which produced Slaked Lime. Slaked Lime was used in both the agricultural and building industries. Most of the old buildings in the surrounding areas would have had Slaked Lime used in their construction.
