Translated from Gaelic, Crieff, means â€˜Hill of Trees. The main industry here is tourism with the lure of The Crieff Hydro, a luxurious hotel complex with spa facilities, along with other holiday accommodation and a challenging golf course. Other industries include Whiskey, pottery and glassware. Historically the town was known as Drummond after the Drummond Earls of Perth, the local patrons.
