Amroth is a pretty coastal village positioned on the tip of Pembrokeshire in the western reaches of Wales. It dates back many centuries although the mining of coal and anthracite played an important role which led to the growth of the village, and an increase in the population right up until the 19th Century when mining finally ceased. Today's visitors can enjoy the fabulous sandy beach which unveils a link with the past at low tide, when the remains of a petrified forest which was drowned seven thousand years ago is revealed.
