Amlwch is a small market town positioned on the eastern reaches of the Isle of Anglesey, and is home to just over two and a half thousand people. It has an intriguing history that dates as far back as the Bronze Age. From a small, although important settlement it grew when, in the 18th and 19th Centuries Parys Mountain was plundered for its rich Copper Ore, which led to it becoming the world's largest Copper Mine, which at its height employed nearly two thousand miners. With all of the mining activity, the sleepy fishing port also grew as the ships arrived to transport the Copper Ore all over the world, and also to deliver goods for the ever rising number of shops.
