Docking is a pretty village in the north western corner of Norfolk, one of the highest points in the county, though as Beacon Hill over near West Runton is the highest at 105m above sea level, climbing boots will not be strictly necessary here. Because of the elevation of the village it had problems for years with the supply of drinking water, though in modern times a water tower has overcome that natural defect. Six roads converge on Docking from Heacham on the Wash to the west; Brancaster Bay to the north, and other hamlets and villages from all over this unspoiled corner of North Norfolk.
