Walsingham has a history of pilgrimage; the abbey, priory ruins and excavated site of the original Holy House bear testimony to former days when religion played an important part in the life of the village. Pleasant walking is to be found locally amidst unspoilt parklands, where a gentle river meanders lazily alongside.
