West from Cardigan Bay to the Conwy Valley in the east and south from the River Dyfi estuary to Conwy Bay in the north Snowdonia consists of 800 or so square miles of mountains (obviously including Snowdon from which the Park takes its name), lakes, hills, rivers, gorges, waterfalls and 20 miles of coastline … a diverse and beautiful landscape. Climbing Snowdon is on the 'bucket list' of so many of us, but the Park in its entirety is so much more than a mountain – or even a range of mountains since they cover more than half of the park. The park is also home to beautiful places to stay like Betws y Coed, Bala and Beddgelert, as well as many larger countryside and coastal towns.
Snowdonia National Park is in North Wales
